Rainwater can pool there and breed insects that spread diseases like malaria. Other dangers can develop too. To prevent this, proper disposal of garbage is very important. Do not burn anything plastic since that can foul the air. Clean, keep and store plastics as well as other items that can be reused. For other solid waste, talk with others and pick a site for a communal pit. Make layers of trash and soil until it is filled. Then mark the area, so people don’t try and use it for another purpose.
